the "baby" pine street cottage! x0x

(the baby guest house of my pine street project)

in the spring of 2021 my pine street cottage project was featured on the cover of 5280Home. it was so EXCITING! this darling house has a calm, neutral palette with lots of texture and dimension in the textiles, pillows, throws and wall art. at that time, the family was remodeling the guest house, which i was so happy to furnish. so now there is a baby cottage!

(the “main” house on pine street)

the same easy, neutral palette was carried into the guest house: warm, blonde wood floors, white walls and light oak cabinets punctuated with hits of black.

as you enter there is an enclosed sun porch with comfortable saddle leather lounge chairs and views of the front garden.

(this sunny sanctuary is perfect for morning coffee!)

the living, dining and kitchen areas are one continuous space that opens to the back garden on the far end. as in the main house, the guest cottage features furnishings and finishes in a range of grays from charcoal in the sofa and rug to light gray veining in the countertops. a live edge coffee table and teak credenza bring warmth to the space, while a sisal rug and woven ottomans add subtle pattern.

(the living room is just off the sun porch)

(hank also enjoyed the cozy, wooly rug)

the clean, white dining set is situated under an abstract, brass wire fixture with an airy, light feel.

(a round white dining table seats four)

(the kitchen leads into the back garden)

(white oak flat panel cabinets are topped with marbled quartz)

two bedrooms and a bathroom sit off of the main room. the light filled primary bedroom has sliding glass doors that lead into the garden. the leather and walnut bed and live edge bedside tables echo the finishes in other parts of the house.

the bathroom features the same marbled countertops as the kitchen with clean, white subway tile in the bath and geometric floor tile.

(the generous vanity allows for lots of counter space)

(circular floor tile adds dimension to the space)

the space in the kids’ room is maximized with a clean, steel bunk bed and white bookshelves. french doors close it off, while allowing lots of light into the room.
