(rose arbor 2008 by ann rhode, 36W x 36L”)
rose arbor is the result of a tile quilt class ann took that was taught by carol gilman jones and bobbi finley when they were writing their book, “tile quilt revival,” published in 2010.
the tile technique is a way to leave “grout spaces” between your appliqué pieces. ann utilized both that technique and regular appliqué in the quilt. these approaches gave ann a way to feature the big roses in a garden setting.
